Sometimes the same foods at Disney are not created equally… the gluten-free pizzas at Hollywood Studios are an example of this.
The very first time I watched Fantasmic (which surprisingly was only a few months ago), I decided to grab a gluten-free pizza from Catalina Eddies since it was right across from the entrance. This pizza was $11.29 and I will say that it was a very big serving- too big for the to-go box they had. However, this pizza was pretty terrible if I’m being honest. Unfortunately I don’t have a picture since I ordered it before I started this blog, but it was very thin and soggy. The texture was incredibly chewy, it almost felt like eating cheese on top of extremely chewy cheese. It’s edible but I could not recommend it.
About a week ago when I was back at Hollywood Studios, I decided to give their pizza another try but this time from PizzeRizzo. It’s the exact same price as the Catalina Eddies pizza, but in my opinion, is much better! It is definitely best when eaten right away, as once it started getting soggy the texture diminished a bit. However, it had great flavor and a better texture than the other pizza. As you can tell from the pictures below, you can tell its a gluten free crust but it’s enjoyable. I dipped my pizza in one of the ranches that came with my salad, and added powdered parmesan packets from the condiment stands on top.
I would recommend getting a plastic knife to separate the pieces because I tried picking one up while it was still hot and all the cheese slid off, LOL.
That’s all I have for this pizza comparison but I will be trying more locations soon!
